Crissy's Story
Throughout my childhood and teen years, I grew up with very low self esteem and was highly dissatisfied with myself.  I wasn’t comfortable with my conversation skills, had no clever sense of humor, wasn’t happy with my looks, and was just overall very awkward and incredibly introverted.  My shyness lead people to believe that I was uninterested and a very unfriendly individual.  However, it was quite the opposite.  In my mind, I figured people wanted nothing to do with me because I had nothing exciting to offer.  After years of trial and error and a lot of “throwing myself into the fire,” I figured out how to build on my strengths and understand my weaknesses to develop a style that allowed me to be successful with a variety of situations.

My point is, I missed out on so many opportunities to make friends, build relationships, experience special events, make the most of group activities, try out for social clubs and organizations because I lacked the self confidence to put myself out there.  I was finally 27 years old when I figured out how to be myself and let my own inner beauty shine through and overcome my low self confidence.  I don’t want any young girl to miss out on valuable experiences in her early years!  At the same time, I don’t want a mature lady to continue in life without addressing these issues and enjoying opportunities.  There’s hope for change and progress to a better life!

Crissy’s Bio

Crissy grew up in Plano, Texas where she was heavily involved in school, church and community projects.  She excelled in music through participating in Younger Generation, a children’s chorus striving for musical excellence, All-Region Choir and an invitation to audition as 1st soprano All-State during her Sophomore year in high school.  Crissy was a member of several leadership programs beginning early in elementary school through senior high school including Stop and Acteens, both community outreach and missions programs and student council.  She graduated from Plano Senior High School class of 1997.  Crissy is a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2001.  She graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in Marketing.

After graduation, Crissy made an ambitious move to glamorous Las Vegas, Nevada.  She quickly found her place in the fast paced and highly demanding hospitality industry.  Her career began with a high end boutique destination management company as a Sales Coordinator.  She worked on projects with some of the most exciting venues and talent in Las Vegas including the Ghost Bar at the Palms Hotel, Studio 54 at MGM Grand, and the House of Blues Foundation Room, with the highlight being the debut release of Celine Dion fragrance.  Soon after her career took off, she was recruited to join the sales team at Bellagio Hotel and Casino, the first AAA Five Diamond resort on the Las Vegas strip.  She began as a Sales Assistant and was quickly promoted to become the youngest Convention Sales Manager at Bellagio.  She enjoyed a four year tenure at Bellagio and grew very fond of her incredibly professional and highly polished co-workers.  With a desire to draw from her creative talents, Crissy took an opportunity to build a brand new special events program at a private country club in Las Vegas.  This new venture allowed Crissy to expand her marketing, advertising, catering sales and special event management experience.  The club membership embraced Crissy and her charisma combined with hard work resulted in dramatic revenue producing results.

In 2008, Crissy moved to Plano, Texas to be closer to her family.  The relocation allowed Crissy to take time to build her relationship with God and spend time serving Him.  In 2008 and through most of 2009, Crissy’s full time schedule involved working with Isabel’s Community Outreach (ICO), S.M. Wright Foundation and Higher Ground.  Her efforts included fundraising, teaching and mentoring, volunteer coordinator, event designer and coordinator, project manager, event photography, and vocalist.  Some of Crissy’s recent accomplishments include ICO Circus Day (150 ICO children), S.M. Wright Easter in the Park (150 Easter Dresses, 100 Easter Baskets), and Rio Grande Playground Project (1,300 square foot playground) and Vacation Bible School (200 children).  Crissy’s current community involvement includes fundraising and collection drives for the S.M. Wright Foundation.  Crissy volunteers at the S.M. Wright food pantry every month sorting food and handing out groceries to over 700 families in need in the South Dallas area.  Her next project is Christmas in the Park where she is coordinating a bike drive for the holiday gift giveaway.  Christmas in the Park will service 30,000 people in December 2009.

Crissy’s newest venture is Building Inner Beauty (BIB).  With society’s emphasis on outward appearances, related pressures and expectations, females can be easily discouraged under constant comparisons.  BIB provides opportunities for ladies to be confident in their strengths and better understand their weaknesses, allowing growth and development beyond their initial hesitations or limitations.  Crissy's desire is to empower females to be the best they can be and realize their full potential.  In her words “I’m passionate about allowing ladies to dream, and giving them insight and tools to believe in themselves, so that they can strive to achieve their dreams and make them a reality.”
